Chelated Minerals

 
Chelated Minerals are minerals that are complexed with various amino acids and/or oligopeptides. You should look to see individual mineral monographs to see if chelated forms give any advantage. The claim of "chelation" does not necessarily mean a superior product.


Some believe that Chelated Minerals are absorbed better than non-chelated minerals. There may be certain minerals (e.g. trivalent chromium and zinc) where this is possibly the case. In most cases chelated and non-chelated minerals are absorbed with equivalent efficiency. This website is intended to educate and inform, and should not replace discussions with your doctor.
