with asthma, cardiac arrhythmias, and seizure disorders should avoid Huperzine A due to
possible adverse effects. Individuals with inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel
disease, and malabsorption syndromes should also avoid Huperzine A. Adverse effects reported
with Huperzine A include blurred vision, diarrhea, dizziness, fasciculations, nausea, and
sweating. Possible adverse effects include arrhythmias, bradycardia, bronchospasm, cramping,
hypersalivation, increased urination, seizures, urinary incontinence, and vomiting. Using
Huperzine A with the acetylcholinesterase inhibitors donepezil or tacrine might produce
additive effects. Other acetylcholinesterase inhibitors include neostigmine, physostigmine,
and pyridostigmine, and using these agents with Huperzine A might also produce additive
effects. Use of Huperzine A with cholinergic medicines, such as bethanechol, might produce
additive effects. Use of Huperzine A with CDP-choline, choline, phosphatidylcholine, and
L-alpha-glycerylphosphorylcholine may produce additive effects hypothetically. This website
